MISSIONS

Kingdom Builders_Horz_Gold

Our Kingdom Builders missions department is all about stirring up a heart for the nations. We do this by both GIVING and GOING. We begin each year by prayerfully seeking what role God wants us to play in building His kingdom. The Bible shows us that Jesus gave all He had to reach the lost—and that there is no greater love than this.

View this year's Journey Initiative Guide to see how we plan to do our part in bringing the message of hope and salvation around the world this upcoming year.

OUTREACH

Journey Church Logo_Horz_BY

We love the cities that make up Journey Church and the communities that surround them. Whether it’s being a part of the annual City Serve events, service projects, or age-specific outreaches, we love doing what we can to make our communities better. Standing side by side with other believers and serving the community simply because we love them, can give you so much joy and purpose!

Our events page is a great source for finding out about any and all of the ministry opportunities here at the church. However, several outreach events have now become ingrained into our culture and calendar year. You can expect to hear about these events a lot during the seasons they happen as we eagerly anticipate them taking place. See the information listed below for more details about these fixed events.

SPRING

We love our cities!!!
City Serve is a mobilization movement across churches to empower people to serve and bless the communities where they live. This state-wide initiative brings churches within each participating city together as they work to create service projects that cater specifically to their community's needs. These service projects are then supported by church and community volunteers who come together to serve and minister to their community.

SUMMER

MEGA SPORTS CAMP is a week-long summer adventure for kids where they get to compete and hone their skills in sports and various clubs, learn about Jesus, make new friends, and have a ton of fun!

Volunteers for this event help in a number of capacities as we teach about sports and faith. Our kids will become confident in their identity in Christ as they discover that they are Valuable, Influential, Brave, Encouraging, and Selfless.

FALL

Our youth and children's departments join together in the fall to raise funds for World Serve through this fun run event. WorldServe International is a leading provider of clean water wells in sub-Saharan Africa. They assist the World Health Organization's target goal to see universal and equitable access to clean water for ALL by the year 2030. Participating in the 5K, Kids Mile, or the Water Challenge will help raise awareness and money for water wells in Africa. A clean water source can make such a difference in these countries and is a tool for spreading the gospel.

WINTER

The Christmas Mall is an annual outreach event at Journey Church's central campus in Minot. This free event provides a shopping experience for families in our community and the surrounding area in need around the holiday season. Registered parents and/or guardians arrive at Journey Church and are able to choose presents for each child in their household. Our team of volunteers personally assists shoppers throughout their whole experience - from shopping to wrapping and loading the gifts into their cars.

ONGOING

CASO (Come AlongSide Others) is a non-profit wrap-around service group that cares for the foster system at every level. Volunteers come alongside foster families, social workers, and bio families so that they can help foster children thrive. This multi-church-supported organization offers Journey Church attendees an opportunity to serve in the biblical mandate to care for the orphan and the widow (James 1:27). Those wanting to become a CASO volunteer or to hear more information can reach out to them through their Facebook page.

BI-ANNUALLY

Taking place bi-annually on evenly numbered years, Night to Shine (last called A Night to Remember) is a complimentary event for people with special needs hosted by local churches around the world. The event is open to anyone living with disabilities, ages 14 and older. Volunteers support the event by helping with our red carpet entrance, limousine rides, dancing, karaoke, dinner, and crowning ceremony where every honored guest will receive a crown or tiara. Night to Shine is a celebration of God’s love for HIS Kings and Queens!
